How long has Dr. Luria been performing Rhinoplasties?

Dr. Luria has been Board-Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1984. Additionally, he has been president of the Florida society of plastic surgeons since 2003, on the board of governors for the Surgical Specialty Council, Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery for St. Josephs Hospital since 2002, member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, as well as many other councils which are listed on the about the doctor page.

How do I know if a Rhinoplasty is right for me?

Good candidates for Rhinoplasty have the following characteristics:

  • your nose appears too large for your face
  • there is a bump on the nasal bridge when viewed in profile
  • your nose seems too wide when viewed from the front
  • the nasal tip droops or plunges
  • the tip is thickened or enlarged
  • your nostrils are excessively flared
  • your nose is off-center or crooked
  • previous injury has made your nose asymmetrical

What are the risks associated with Rhinoplasty?

The risks that come with rhinoplasties are small, after your surgery you may develop small blood vessels visible on your nose, also if you choose to do an open rhinoplasty you will have scarring on the outer part of your nose. In about 10% of all cases surgery might be required to correct a deformity that could not have been prevented.

Are the results permanent?

The results of your rhinolplasty are most likely permanent unless you injure your nose in any way. Sometimes aging may also alter the look of your nose slightly.

Is there an age restriction on rhinoplasty?

Dr. Luria recommends that a teenagers nose be done growing before he has a rhinoplasty consultation. The ages can vary slightly but for girls a nose stops growing at age fourteen or fifteen and for boys a little older.
