Tampa Eyelid Surgery Preparation

During your blepharoplasty consultation, Dr. Luria will take the time necessary to understand your expectations and determine if the procedure is right for you. He will discuss which type of eyelid surgery will give you the best results and answer any additional eyelid surgery questions or concerns you might have. You should also come to the appointment prepared to discuss your medical history. This will include information about any medical conditions, drug allergies, medical treatments you have received, pregnancies, previous surgeries and medications that you currently take.

If you decide to have the eyelid surgery procedure, you will work with the office staff to find a surgery date which works for you. At that time, you will need to put down a deposit of $500 to confirm the date and all surgical fees are due 3 weeks prior to surgery. Financing options are available to help offset some of the upfront costs of the procedure. Information on financing can be found on our Tampa Plastic Surgery Financing page.

He will give you directions on eating and drinking leading up to your surgery. If you are a smoker, it is recommended that you quit before your eyelid surgery. Aspirin and certain anti-inflammatory drugs can cause increased bleeding, so you should avoid taking these medications for a period of time before surgery.

Dr. Luria performs the eyelid surgery on an outpatient basis. Prior to surgery, you will need to arrange for someone to drive you home and to stay with you for at least the next day or two.

It is imperative that you follow all of Dr. Luria’s preoperative instructions to make your eyelid surgery as successful as possible. If you have any questions, you can call the office at 813-875-6376.
