Tampa Breast Reduction Post Surgery

Returning to Work

You should be able to return to work after 2 weeks, depending on the level of physical activity. You are advised not to do any heavy lifting bending, straining, or pushing for the next 3 to 4 weeks. Your energy level may not return to normal for the next couple weeks.

You will be swollen and bruised for about three to five weeks following surgery. You should be able to see the results of the reduction after this time, but it may take up to a year to see complete results.

You will be able to shower the day following your surgery. Make sure all incisions are completely dry then put your support bra back on as soon as possible.

You will return home after your breast Reduction. You should get up and walk around for a bit the day following your surgery to avoid any blood clotting, Dr. Luria will remove your bandages a few days after surgery and you will wear a surgical bra for the next couple weeks and your stitches will be removed about 1 to 2 weeks after the procedure.

You may lose some feeling in your nipples or the surrounding skin causes by the swelling, but once the swelling subsides the feeling in your breast should return to normal.

After a Breast Reduction your body will look more in proportion, clothes will fit you better and you will gain more self confidence. The swelling should mostly subside after a few weeks but the new shape of your breasts may not be at its full potential for up to a year following surgery. Scarring will be permanent but should fade over time.
